Check the public register before you book
CMTO's Find an RMT tool is the public register. Use it to see whether a massage therapist is authorized to practise in Ontario.
The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario keeps a public register, called Find an RMT. Anyone can search it by a therapist's name, a practice location, or a postal code. The register is there so you can see whether the person is authorized to practise, and so you can read any public notice the College has posted.
When this site puts a shop in the registered column, the card links to a register search for the name that matched. Open that link. The register is the record. We do not copy conduct history into our database, and a match on a business name is not a promise about every person who works there.
Start from the College's own page if you want the longer explanation: Look before you book.
