Registered massage therapy is not a spa

In Ontario, registered massage therapy is a regulated health profession. A spa, foot massage, tuina, or head spa is a different kind of business.

In Ontario, the titles Massage Therapist, MT, and Registered Massage Therapist, RMT, belong to people who are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. A spa, foot massage, tuina studio, or head spa can be a perfectly ordinary business. It is not the same thing, and a relaxing description on a website does not turn it into one.

This site keeps the two in separate columns. A shop appears under registered massage therapy only when a practice name from its public website matched the College's public register. If the website says "RMT" and that check did not match, the shop stays with spa and bodywork, and the card says so.

Read the shop's own website before you book. That is where the services, prices, and appointment rules are. This site does not copy those pages and does not certify them.
